Sundarbans is a mangrove area in the delta formed by the confluence of the Ganges, Brahmaputra and Meghna Rivers in the Bay of Bengal. It spans from the Hooghly River in India's state of West Bengal to the Baleswar River in Bangladesh.
Itinerary
Day 1 - Kolkata to Sundarbans- Gadkhali (Approx 3 hr 30 min, 84.0 km)
Start your Sundarban tour from Kolkata. Sundarban National Park known for royal Bengal Tigers, a UNESCO World natural site. Once you will reach the island of Gosaba by boat and then you can take an auto rickshaw ride to the cottage situated on the bank of Gomor River, after checking in the cottage, have the rest of the day at leisure, and spend some quiet time on the island. Later, head to the Sundarban Bird Jungle and enjoy bird watching with a beautiful sunset. In the evening, you will witness the folk dance performances by the local people.
Day 2 - Sunderban Jungle Excursion
Wake up in the morning with breakfast and get ready to witness the largest single block of Tidal Mangrove Forest. Board the Boat cruise and head towards the Sunderban Jungle, where you will get to see crocodiles, wild boars, spotted deer’s, water monitor lizards, kingfisher or different types of birds and if you are lucky, you might get a glimpse of ‘Royal Bengal Tiger’. Next visit the watchtowers, from where you get a chance to see these wild animals living in their natural habitat. You will be visiting three watch towers known as Sajnekhali, Sudhanyakhali and Dobanki. After a tiring day travel back to Kolkata, where you will be dropped at your preferred destination as your trip ends here.
