Under the Kolathiri rajas, Kannur (formerly Cannanore) was a major port bristling with international trade – explorer Marco Polo christened it a ‘great emporium of spice trade’. Since then, the usual colonial suspects, including the Portuguese, Dutch and British, have had a go at exerting their influence on the region, leaving behind the odd fort. Today Kannur, 80km north of Calicut, is an unexciting, though agreeable, town known mostly for its weaving industry and cashew trade. For travellers, this area's appeal lies in its entrancing theyyam rituals and untouristed golden beaches (particularly Thottada Beach, overlooked by a smattering of easy-going guesthouses).
The huge laterite-brick Bekal Fort, built between 1645 and 1660, is the largest in Kerala and sits on Bekal’s rocky headland with fine views. It passed into British hands in 1792, having originally been seized from the Ikkeri Nayaks by Hyder Ali in 1763.

After all the checking in formalities, More than half of the day will be free. You can go for visit some places in Kannur like Ezhara Beach, Arakkal Museum Kannur and St. Angelo Fort . If time permits , You can get busy shopping at the nearby markets, Later back to the Hotel and Overnight Stay .
Day 2
Kannur - Bekal
After breakfast Check out from the Hotel and drive to Bekal . You will be taken to visit places like Kannur LightHouse, Meenkunnu Beach,The Parassinikadavu Sree Muthappan Temple is a revered Hindu temple located in Kannur, Kerala. It features traditional dance performances that enact sacred stories and is a popular pilgrimage site in North Kerala .Later you can visit the Parassinikadavu Snake Park and the Paithalmala View Point. After that you can transfer to Bekal. check into the hotel and overnight Stay.
Day 3
Bekal Sightseeing
After having breakfast, Proceed to visit Bekal sightseeing places like Ananthapura Temple, Kavvayi Backwaters, Bekal fort and Bekal beach . Later back to the hotel and overnight stay.
Day 4
Departure
After having breakfast, Check out from the hotel, and transfer to Kannur Airport / railway Station for your return journey.
