Kerala, a state on India’s tropical Malabar Coast, has nearly 600km of Arabian Sea shoreline. It’s known for its palm-lined beaches and backwaters, a network of canals. National parks like Eravikulam and Periyar, plus Wayanad and other sanctuaries, are home to elephants, langur monkeys and tigers.
Day 1
Arrival Kochi - Munnar(Approx 110 kms)
Arrival at Cochin Station/ Airport/Bus Stop. Proceed to Munnar Visit waterfalls ( Athirapally waterfalls) . Munnar hill station is marked by vast expanses of tea plantations, colonial bungalows, rivulets, waterfalls and cool weather. It is also an ideal destination for trekking and mountain biking.If time permits View famous Kerala Cultural Show at Munnar Town. Later check in to the hotel and overnight stay at Munnar Hotel.
Day 2
Munnar Sightseeing
After breakfast go for a full day of Munnar sightseeing. This covers a visit to Eco Point, Mattupetty dam, Kundala lake, Eravikulam National Park, which is a 30 minutes drive away from Munnar town. The main attraction of this park is the ‘Nilgiri Thars’- a rare species of mountain goats, protected here. Overnight stay at Munnar Hotel
Day 3
Munnar - Thekkady (Approx 95 kms)
After breakfast, proceed to Thekkady (Periyar Tiger Reserve). Periyar is South India’s most popular Tiger Reserve, encompassing an area of 777 sq. km. Set on the attractive man-made Periyar Lake; it attracts over 300,000 visitors a year. Though the sanctuary was made a part of Project Tiger in 1973, it is better known for its elephants. On arrival in Periyar, proceed to check-in at the hotel.Overnight stay at the Hotel.
Day 4
Thekkady - Alappuzha ( Approx 140 kms)
After breakfast Check out from the Hotel and drive to Alleppey also known as Venice of the east by its special geographical features as the place is famous for its vast back water stretches and paddy fields. By 12 pm you can board your houseboat to explore the back waters and its serene beauty. . Enjoy the ride, delicious cuisines and an overnight stay onboard.
Day 5
Departure
After Breakfast, check out from the Houseboat Proceed to Cochin Airport/Station/Bus Stop as per the return journey timings.
