Irreverent Shillong was the capital of colonial and post-Independence Assam (which embraced almost the whole Northeast) until 1972, when it became capital of the newly carved-out state of Meghalaya. Since then it has developed some accoutrements of a typical modern Indian town, including a lot of concrete and some urban sprawl, but it retains some old-time charm in certain pockets – and a strong sense of individuality and difference, with its many Christian churches and its residents' tastes for hanging out in cafes, playing and watching rock music and football, driving around in spruced-up automobiles and gambling on archery. The heart of town is Police Bazar (PB to locals) where seven roads meet at a hectic roundabout.
Day 1:
Arrival Guwahati – Shillong (198km)Welcome to the beautiful North-Eastern Region of India. Upon arrival at the Guwahati International Airport, meet and greet by our representative. He will transfer you to a pre-booked hotel in Shillong. You will be driven to Shillong popularly known as the “Scotland of the East”. Enroute have a short stop and visit the magnificent and unique Umiam Lake. You can opt for some amazing water sports here or just admire the beauty of this picturesque place. When you reach Shillong visit the Don Bosco Monument, Cathedral Catholic Church, Lady Hydari Park and Ward’s Lake where you can also enjoy boating. Check-in to the hotel/resort. In the evening visit the local markets of Shillong. Overnight stay at Shillong.

Day 2:
Shillong - Cherrapunji - Shillong.Morning after having breakfast at the hotel, proceed to Cherrapunjee. On the way to Cherrapunjee, you will be visiting Shillong peak and Elephant falls. Once you are in Cherrapunjee, you can visit Nokhalikai falls, Seven Sisters falls, Dainthlen falls and Mawsmai cave. Then you will be having lunch. Post lunch you will be visiting Awrah Cave. Once you are done with the day's tour, return back to Shillong for an overnight stay at a hotel in Shillong.

Day 3:
Shillong – Mawlynnong - Shillong.Morning after having breakfast at the hotel, head out for a drive to Dawki. You will be visiting the suspension bridge over the Umngot river. After that, you will drive in the direction of Mawlynnong. You will be having lunch in Mawlynnong and then you will be heading out for Riwai Village and will be walking around Single Decker Living Root Bridge. Then you will be returning to Shillong for an overnight stay.

Day 4:
Shillong – Mawlynnong - Shillong.After a delicious breakfast, check out of your hotel in Shillong. Depart to Guwahati via private transfer. Seek blessings of Mahavidyas at the Kamakhya Temple to culminate your tour package. You will be dropped to Guwahati airport as per departure schedule for your return journey with a smile & life time memories.
